Cancer Free, Pain Free, And Drug Free

Two days ago I went to the hospital for x-rays and blood tests for my every six month follow up appointment.

Today I met with my oncologist for the results of those tests. I am still cancer free. That’s a good feeling.

As you may know, my original diagnosis in April 2005, was Advanced Head and Neck Cancer Stage 4. I had several surgeries, extensive chemotherapy and 38 radiation treatments. No one expected me to live. My family even met with a funeral director.

I take full responsibility for my getting cancer. My primary cancer was in my tonsils. I smoked non-filter cigarettes for 50 years. It is pretty obvious what caused my cancer. My poor eating habits and complete lack of any exercise program didn’t help matters either. So Yes, I take full responsibility for my getting cancer.

I give full credit to Dr. Victor Aviles and my entire team of medical professionals for my miraculous recovery. Today I am Cancer Free, Pain Free and Drug Free. It was the skill and dedication of my doctors that rid me of my cancer.

I am now taking responsibility for my health. I quit smoking, I have a healthy diet and I exercise. I am a grateful and happy camper. You are invited to comment on this post and share your own story.
